"From an actor I’ve been turned into a pin-up boy" - Shahid Kapoor
|
Shahid Kapoor tells us why he is hungry for some action now. In your next film Teri Meri Kahaani, we get to see you in three avatars. And also for the first time as a Muslim man Javed Qadri...
It all happened rather casually. Kunal (Kohli) had a few completed scripts. He told me about this idea and I loved it. People talk about Janam Janam Ka Saath, this film depicted it. I however had reservations against doing a reincarnation film. Kunal assured me that it would be a romcom.

Shahid Kapoor signs Bejoy Nambiar's next
|
After the success of Shaitaan, director Bejoy Nambiar is in no mood to relax, it seems. While still working on his second directorial venture David, he has already roped in Shahid Kapoor for his next untitled project. "Yes, Shahid and I are working on something. We will start working on the film once I am done with David," Bejoy told IANS.
The director was reluctant to reveal the theme of his film and said: "I am nowhere close to the project right now. I am only focusing on 'David'. I can't reveal the genre of the film. Nothing has been decided yet."

Shahid pays tribute to Shammi Kapoor in Teri Meri Kahaani
|
In his forthcoming film, Teri Meri Kahaani, Shahid Kapoor pays tribute to the late dancing icon Shammi Kapoor. He says, “I have grown up watching Shammi sir’s films, and have always admired him. I especially loved him in Teesri Manzil (1966) and Kashmir Ki Kali (1964).” Shahid’s upcoming flick spans three eras - the 1900s, ’60s and 2012.
Kapoor adds, “Shammi is a style icon for a lot of youngsters even today. For the track set in the ’60s, Kunal (director Kunal Kohli) gave me a video compilation of his films and songs to pick up nuances. Through this track, we are paying homage to the Elvis Presley of India.”

Shahid Kapoor to host this year's IIFA Awards in Singapore
|
The last four years have seen International Indian Film Academy (better known as IIFA) Awards as one of the most memorable event that's filled with peels of laughter and giggles (courtesy Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani's acts) and lots of awards, of course!
But this year seems to be a 'zara hat ke', as they would say in tinsel lingo, because it will be the national heartthrob Shahid Kapoor, who is all set to host this years' awards.

Shahid Kapoor trained by Mommy Neelima
|
Shahid Kapoor is the latest to join league of mamma’s boys. No, he didn’t exactly say yes to the girl of his mother’s choice yet, but for his next film Teri Meri Kahaani the actor was actually trained by his mother to get certain nuances right. One of the many characters he plays in the film is that of a Muslim boy and Shahid had to go back to his roots to prepare for the same.
His mother Neelima Azim was only too glad to guide his son in getting the mannerisms and pronunciations correct. Shahid, who spent his formative years with his maternal grandparents, says, “My grandparents and uncles were great poets and masters in literature. And the only one who could help me relive their times was my mother.”
